Designed for ease of use but ends up being awkward, fiddly, and unreliable. Won’t stay connected. Often fails to read properly or at all. Wish I’d kept my old corded cuff.
The design of the off on switch is not reliable. Unit will either not power up or did not switch off after use and runs down the battery. Haven’t been able to get it to work consistently enough to determine if the BP readings are reliable. Good idea, doesn’t work. Difficult to determine if switched on. No off indication.
When this product works it is good but it does not always connect to my iPhone. If I could find the receipt I would send it back for a refund. FYI I am not a tech illiterate and know how to us apps etc. I have an iPhone 8s and it is my 5 iPhone. I would NOT recommend this product and wish I had done more research on it.
I’ve used this product about a year. Switched to it from an Omron monitor, enticed by the features of connectivity, portability and ease of use with the Qardio. The unit does deliver in those areas but fails where it matters most - accuracy. I noticed my readings at the doctor’s office were much higher than the Qardio gave me at home. Wrote it off as white coat syndrome at first but then started having my wife, who is an RN, check me with her cuff, side by side with the Qardio. The Qardio was significantly off every time - always low. I then took it with me to the doctor’s office to check it there - same thing, registered my BP too low. It doesn’t matter how slick, feature rich or user friendly a monitor is, if it doesn’t accurately give you a reading it is worthless. Don’t bet your health on this. I’m going to try another unit and this time base my decision purely on reviews of accuracy.
This device looks nice and is compact but it's sacrifices are many!I used this for a month and am returning it for an Omron.1. battery life suck, 4 AAA batteries in a month, no thanks. This could have been fixed w/ a rechargeable battery or a simple on/of switch2. No way to manually start this, gotta use the app ever time!3. Power indicator light is tiny and blinks on for second before going off. To power cycle it, you have to wrap it all the way back up and unwrap it.... seriously!4. The only way to store it is by wrapping it up again, otherwise you can't just power it back on and take your BP again. While the device works well and I'd give that a 4 starts its design is a 2 star.Maybe a v2 will fix these glaring issues, but as it stands now don't buy this... not even for looks.
I wanted to believe in this product. I should have trusted the reviews 1) synchronization is not seamless and is time consuming ( it requires almost daily trouble shooting ).2) after one week of use I have attempted a return to the vendor several days in a row. They are not responsive whatsoever. Horrible customer service on an unreliable product. Stay away- you will thank me. I purchased direct from Qardio arm.
I love the unit but it has a very frustrating flaw, the auto shutoff is not reliable and the batteries drain. I have gone through 3 sets of batteries since I purchased less than 60 days ago. The issue is extra frustrating as there is no manual power switch so I do not know what to do. I hope the company will resolve as otherwise, it has no value if I must change the batteries so often.
Compared with my doctors professional equipment, totally inaccurate and dangerous.
Difficult to operate...Does not turn on easily...I am returning it.This product seems to measure accurately, but the on-off function is difficult at best. You need to roll it up and hope that a magnet makes a connection. Unroll it quickly...and hope it turns on. Only works sporadically. Pain in the you-know-what. Why can't they design a simple on-off switch?Also...no battery indicator and no AC option. Not good.
As a Nurse Practitioner I was happy to have a unit that a friend told me was accurate Unfortunately the problems began out of the box.1Not easy to set up and have functional even though I have been taking blood pressures for many years.2.When I started taking my BP and compared it to two other machines this was was consistently 20+ points higher Check with your doctor's machine.I will try to return to Amazon as this is defective.
This device worked consistently but with consistently high readings - caused me extra anxiety and extra expense when I finally got to Dr, office. Read 173/114 ; nurse got 130/82 not even close. Too late to get refund.
My friend just got an email saying I wanted to share this app and please download! I never used it. I deleted it 5 minutes after I saw what it was, and would love to know how they got my friend’s info! If you like your privacy, dont use this app! What the what!!!
Despite the cool tech features of this device, the fact remains that the blood pressure readings are not accurate with this machine. I've bought so many BP monitors that I could probably have own a store to sell them all. I thought the fact that the bluetooth feature of syncing with my phone would be neat, but that's about all that's cool with this machine. First, I have very different readings compared to the calibrated machines at the doctor's office and it's any wonder that my higher BP levels from this device weren't actually a result of those bad readings. I followed the directions to wear it loose with the logo pointing to the bend of your elbow, but I still get the same readings. Second, when I first got the device, no green lights came on. I sent a note to customer service, and they responded quickly with their typical "template" responses but it still didn't fix the issue. The machine still worked but just no lights when I open the cuff. Third, and it's a marketing gimmick: while it's inflating, they show you ads on your phone to buy more of their products. Bottom line: I was dazzled by size and more of the cool features of this device than the need to have it work as accurately as possible. My recommendation would be to stick to another machine with better reviews (which I know is hard to find anyway).
It never occurred to me when shopping to replace the old Omron that if you fail to use the device everyday or at least every couple that the device looses connection CONSTANTLY. Like most of us I'm surrounded by always on tech. There is no reason for me to take my blood pressure everyday. Once a week is all I need. But, the device looses connection, despite the bluetooth on my 6s plus and the iPhone X always on as well as the wifi. As it turns out you can't use the Arm or Base 2 on a 5ghz network it has to be on the EXTREMELY CROWED 2.4GHZ. Granted we only have a few devices that use the 2.4 but I guess that knocks the Qardio devices off. I've had to restart both devices several times, from scratch to get things to work. And you can absolutely forget getting ANY KIND OF HELP. Expect the standard canned boiler plate dibble emailed to you just like Comcast. Plus, ALL YOUR info is stored on their servers, it's not stored locally. I had no idea about some of this. I thought I was purchasing a decent product and good customer support, a la Apple. Man was I duped. Bought the snake oil and polished BULLSH!TE. Personally, this is the one time I wish I was living in California or New York as the consumer proaction laws are supposed to be a lot tougher. In my opinion, you really would be much better off looking elsewhere for a better device with better support and one that doesn't disconnect everyday.I own the latest Qardio Arm and Qardio Base 2, both devices were purchased directly from Qardio and fulfilled by Amazon.
I was drawn to this product because of the compactness for traveling. I have, however, returned to using my older other brand unit because of issues using the Qardio. One, the battery door won’t close, meaning no power to the device unless I hold it down with my hand throughout the read which throws off the reading. Two, the design is poor because after years of taking my own BP and finding the cuff to take seconds to put on, the Qardio’s poor design takes a minute or more. Their manual says leave a finger thickness between the cuff and your arm. No other cuff, including those found in doctors offices, requires this. When you do this, the main device slips around the arm until it’s out of the mandatory position. I can’t recommend it due to these flaws and letters to the California distributor go unanswered. It’s made in Taiwan, so that would be useless to contact them
Useless product. Device paired for the first time. That’s it. Later, there is no green light — despite changing the batteries — nor would it pair. Big frustration. Don’t buy. Waste of money.
Very disappointed, it broke after three months of use. It is so hard to get customer service satisfaction. I would suggest not to buy this product. Please people do not stand behind their product. I am out the money and also have a broken device.
If you don't place it just right you get an error. This happens more than 50% of the time. Talk about raising your blood pressure.
This QardioArm Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor unit doesn't turn on even after following instructions. The instructions read to re-wrap the device and place it next to the I phone. Sometimes it gives the green light and other times it doesn't. When I need to test my blood pressure, I don't need to be wrapping and re-wrapping to turn on a device that doesn't turn on.when I need it. I even changed the batteries but that didn't improve performance.Nothing in the description indicated that the product was not returnable. Buyer Beware, I wasted $90.
Doesn't pair very well with iPhone - connection keeps breaking and it's not very accurate. I tested it in my doctor's office. When he took my blood pressure it was 120/70, when we then tested the machine it was 140/90. What a let down. Don't buy this item.
