Didn't last. We purchased this combination smoke/CO2 detector 2 years ago and installed it in our kitchen. It went off a few times when we produced smoke during food preparation, so it worked. Unfortunately, it now is broken. Does not work. Replaced the batteries; still does not work. So now we have to buy a new one. For $33, this device should last much longer.
64O sf home. This thing goes off with each shower. Today it became an expensive frisbee as it refused to shut the eff off and I couldn't get the battery compartment open. Insurance requires that I have a smoke detector but I shouldn't have to take a cold shower to do that.
Had the same experience described by others. Random chirps. And every single time I turned on a stove top burner I'd get an alarm. The unit is in another room. I believe this detector is dangerous because it's not reliable.
Installation was a breeze. The two batteries were installed so I just had to push in the battery tray.
Unit died after 2 yrs. Seemed to work ok until then. Had a few times beeped with normal kitchen smoke.
